Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice (Bond University) 2019
After graduating with a Bachelor of Laws from Bond University in 2017, having completed work experience at Stone Group Lawyers, Ruby took off a year and a half from her studies to travel the world. Having travelled to 38 countries, Ruby returned to Stone Group Lawyers in early 2019 as a law clerk, she completed her Graduate Diploma in Legal Practice at Bond University. Ruby was admitted to practice in Queensland in October 2019 and the High Court of Australia in July 2020.
Ruby has practised exclusively in Family Law and worked closely with senior family lawyers at Stone Group Lawyers to gain invaluable experience in a broad range of family law matters including international (Hauge Convention) and national relocation matters, urgent Family Law (Airport Watchlist) matters, complex divorce applications, high-valued and intricate property pools and sensitive parenting matters where the children are at risk. Ruby has considerable experience in and encourages her client’s to participate in family dispute resolution, child inclusive conferences and conciliation conferences at the earliest opportunity.
Ruby has developed a pragmatic and cost-conscious approach to her files, with an emphasis on resolving matters without the need for litigious proceedings. When litigation is unavoidable, Ruby aims to guide her client’s through the process and has experience as both an advocate and instructing solicitor. Ruby is an advocate for her client’s mental health through ensuring that family law matters are as stress-free as possible.
Ruby is also currently studying part-time to complete her Masters of Applied Family Law through the College of Law and is expected to graduate in 2023. To date, Ruby has received overall Distinctions for her subjects completed, gaining the top marks for each of the intake’s cohorts.
