About Natalie Powell

Natalie has been practicing as a solicitor since 2009 and has experience in criminal, succession, family, child protection and domestic violence law.

Natalie has worked in a mix of corporate, community and government environments and has acted for clients from a range of backgrounds, including highly educated clients, clients with complex mental health needs, clients from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and clients from low socio-economic backgrounds.

Natalie prides herself on providing timely, high quality and practical advice to her clients and is clear and precise in estimating legal costs right from the beginning to ensure that there are no surprises for the client.

Natalie approaches matters strategically and focuses on outcomes, rather than continuing conflict and has substantial experience negotiating beneficial outcomes for her clients. Where possible, Natalie assists her clients to resolve their matters out of Court. Where litigation is unavoidable, Natalie is a tenacious and respected litigator.

Natalie has extensive experience acting for high-net-worth clients and running complex property matters, including matters involving maintenance, injunctions, third party interests and deceased estates.

Natalie spent three years acting exclusively for people experiencing high risk domestic violence and has extensive experience in matters involving serious allegations of abuse, including matters involving contemporaneous family law, domestic violence, child protection and personal injury proceedings.

Natalie understands the serious impact that allegations of abuse and violence can have on people’s lives and approaches these matters carefully and sensitively.

Natalie has a special interest in matters involving spousal, de facto and adult child maintenance and in parenting matters involving relocation.

Natalie has significant experience on committees and professional bodies and has been a member of the Queensland Law Society’s Family Law Committee since 2014.

Natalie is a member of the:

  • Queensland Law Society; and
  • Family Law Practitioners Association of Queensland.

Natalie has a strong commitment to access to justice and for many years been a volunteer solicitor at the Women’s Legal Service.
